Environmentally Friendly Construction

We should all be mindful of the state of our planet and our environment, particularly as many leading experts and naturalists like Sir David Attenborough agree that if we don’t make conscious decisions to change, we will eventually make planet earth incapable of supporting life. Scary right?

Brightech has been working away in the background for a while now with partners who can offer, in part or whole, sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives to more traditional building materials and building methods. These methods can improve your home’s energy efficiency and reduce the carbon impact of the build itself.

Trees are cut down at a rate faster than they can replenish; it takes around 50-80 years for a tree to be mature enough to be used for structural timber, which is a practice that is unsustainable.

Engineered wood provides a solution to this issue. It is harvested at the same rate as replenishment, so whilst it doesn’t negate the need to cut trees down, it is a much more sustainable option. Engineered wood products use every last fibre of the tree too, even the dust, so there is zero waste. Also, the carbon trapped in the wood stays in the wood.

We can offer an environmentally friendly alternative to almost every product, such as Groundworks, Floors, Walls, Insulation, Interiors, Exteriors, Roofing, Gardening & Landscaping, so we can all do our bit by making one small change.

If you’d like more information or a tour of our production facilities for sustainable housing, please call us on 02381 102211, and we will make the arrangements; it is an inspiring and intriguing day out.
