Government Boiler Upgrade Scheme

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) will kick off in April 2022 aiming to provide financial relief in the form of grants to homeowners in England and Wales towards the cost of installing a heat pump. It will run until 2025 and “be open to domestic and small non-domestic properties”.

The grants available are as follows:

● £5,000 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump
● £5,000 off the cost and installation of a biomass boiler (in rural locations and in properties that are not connected to the gas grid)
● £6,000 off the cost and installation of a ground source heat pump

Eligible systems can be commissioned as of 1st April, with the scheme fully opening for grant applications and payments from 23rd May.
The scheme has a limited number of grants available and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

You can check your eligibility for a grant on the Government Website.
